Noninterference for Intuitionist Necessity

چکیده
We study indexed necessity modalities in intuitionist S4. These provide the logical foundation required by a variety of applications, such as capability-based policy languages for access control and type theories for exceptional computation. We establish noninterference properties capturing the limitations on information flow between formulas under the scope of necessity modalities with different indices.

Noninterference Security in Communicating Sequential Processes
An extension of classical noninterference security for deterministic state machines, as introduced by Goguen and Meseguer and elegantly formalized by Rushby, to nondeterministic systems should satisfy two fundamental requirements: it should be based on a mathematically precise theory of nondeterminism, and should be equivalent to (or at least not weaker than) the classical notion in the degener...
متن کاملThe Emotional Dog Gets Mistaken for a Possum
H. D. Saltzstein and T. Kasachkoff (2004) critique the social intuitionist model (J. Haidt, 2001), but the model they critique is a stripped-down version that should be called the “possum” model. They make 3 charges about the possum model that are not true about the social intuitionist model: that it includes no role for reasoning, that it reduces social influence to compliance, and that it doe...
متن کاملUnwinding Conditional Noninterference
Noninterference provides a control over information flow in a system for ensuring confidentiality and integrity properties. In the literature this notion has been well studied as transitive noninterference and intransitive noninterference. In this paper we define a framework on the notion of conditional noninterference, which allows to specify information flow policies based on the semantics of...
متن کاملDid Brouwer Really Believe That?
This article is a commentary on remarks made in a recent book [12] that perpetuate several myths about Brouwer and intuitionism. The footnote on page 279 of [12] is an unfortunate, historically and factually inaccurate, blemish on an otherwise remarkable book. In that footnote, in which Ok discusses Brouwer (who, incidentally, was normally known not as Jan but as Bertus, a shortening of his...
متن کاملOn Modal Logics with an Intuitionistic Base
(Abstract) In [6] Prior proposed a modal calculus, M IP C, which is an extension of the intuitionist propositional calculus. This system, which I call S 5 IC, turns out to be the intuitionist analogue of Lewis's S 5 in the sense that 1) S 5 IC plus A ∨ ¬A is equivalent to S 5 , 2) collapsing the modal operators yields Heyting's calculus. The question as to whether S 5 IC is to be considered ana...
